Wardell Ready to Bring Grit and Goals to Venom HC 16U AAA

ABBOTSFORD, BC — September 1, 2026 — Venom HC AAA is proud to announce the signing of Mason Wardell, a 2011-born forward from Langley, BC, to the organization’s 16U AAA roster for the 2026/27 season.

Mason has been a familiar face around the Venom HC program throughout the offseason, attending several of the organization’s ID Camps between April and July. With every opportunity, he continued to make an impression on the coaching staff — not only through his play, but through his work ethic, attitude, and leadership.

“Mason came to multiple ID Camps this offseason and every time he stepped on the ice, he competed. He works tirelessly on his game, pushes the players around him, and does it all with a great attitude and that big smile of his. He has a real grit to his game, he competes hard for pucks, and he has a knack for finding the back of the net.” said President/GM Brady Douglas.

Standing at 5’8” and 140 pounds, Wardell brings an energetic and competitive style to the Venom forward group. His ability to battle through small areas, win puck battles, and create scoring opportunities makes him a difficult player to play against.

Last season, Mason suited up for the Langley Hornets U15 AAA program, recording 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points in 10 games. Beyond the numbers, Venom HC believes Wardell’s leadership qualities and commitment to improvement will make him an important addition to the team.

“Mason has continued to show us that he wants to get better,” Douglas added. “He’s not afraid to work, he’s not afraid to compete, and he’s the kind of player who makes the people around him better. We’re excited to see what he can accomplish this season.”
