Abbotsford, BC — September 2026 — The Venom HC AAA Program is excited to officially announce the signing of Soowan Park and Won Seok Kim to the 16U AAA roster for the 2026/27 NAPHL season.

Both 2012-born players join Venom HC from Seoul, South Korea, bringing international experience, high-level skill, and a tremendous work ethic to Abbotsford as they continue their development in North America.

Soowan will join the Venom HC 16U AAA lineup as a forward, while Won Seok will add depth and skill to the blue line as a defenseman. Although they play different positions, both players share many of the same qualities that immediately stood out to the Venom HC coaching staff — strong skating, high hockey IQ, competitiveness, and an exceptional commitment to winning puck battles.

Both players have demonstrated an ability to read the game at a high level, make smart decisions under pressure, and contribute in all areas of the ice. Their skating ability and understanding of the game provide them with a strong foundation as they take this next step in their hockey development.

What may stand out most, however, is their approach to the game and their teammates.

Soowan and Won Seok dig in for every puck, compete for every inch of ice, and consistently put the team before themselves. They have already shown themselves to be fantastic teammates and players who bring a positive attitude and competitive edge every time they step onto the ice.

"These are two very unique players, and honestly, they are both one-of-one in their own ways," said Venom HC President & GM Brady Douglas. "Their skating and hockey IQ immediately caught our attention, but what really stood out was how hard they compete and how they carry themselves as teammates. They don't take a shift off, they battle for every puck, and they genuinely make the players around them better."

The Venom HC organization believes both players have tremendous long-term potential, with the ability to continue developing into players who can make an impact at the junior hockey level in the near future.

Their move to Abbotsford will provide Soowan and Won Seok with an opportunity to compete in the NAPHL, train in a competitive AAA environment, continue developing their individual games, and be exposed to scouts and opportunities throughout the season.

"We're extremely excited to bring them to Abbotsford," Douglas added. "This is exactly what we want Venom HC to be — a place where players can come from different parts of the world, get the development and exposure they need, and continue chasing their hockey goals. We believe both Soowan and Won Seok have a very bright future ahead of them."

The Venom HC AAA Program is proud to welcome Soowan and Won Seok to Abbotsford and looks forward to watching this dynamic duo grow throughout the 2026/27 NAPHL season.

Welcome to the Venom Family, Soowan & Won Seok.

The Future Is Venom.
