Abbotsford, BC – Venom HC U18 AAA is thrilled to announce the signing of 16-year-old forward Mikkel Dennill, a native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, to its U18 AAA roster for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Dennill joins the Venom HC program after a strong first half of the 2025–26 campaign with the Surrey Eagles U18 AAA (JPHL), where he appeared in 14 games and contributed 3 goals and 1 assist while playing against top competition in the league.

Prior to his time with the Eagles, Mikkel spent the 2024–25 season with the Yale Hockey Academy U17 Prep in the CSSHL, notching 4 goals and 4 assists in 32 games, demonstrating consistency and competitiveness at a high level of U17 play.

Standout Skills and On-Ice Impact

A natural competitor, Mikkel has quickly distinguished himself with:

  • Elite skating and top-end speed, allowing him to accelerate past defenders and create time and space in the offensive zone.

  • Exceptional hockey IQ, reading plays ahead of time and making smart choices with and without the puck.

  • Poise under pressure, enabling him to make dynamic plays in all areas of the ice.

His competitive drive and commitment to winning make him a perfect fit for Venom HC’s top six forward group, where his speed and playmaking ability will help elevate the team’s attack.

“We’re excited to add Mikkel to our roster,” said Venom HC Head Coach & GM, Brady Douglas. “He’s a local talent with elite instincts on the ice—his speed and understanding of the game will make an immediate impact. Mikkel’s work ethic and desire to compete every shift align perfectly with our culture here at Venom HC.”

A Clear Development Path

With personal goals of playing Junior A hockey and ultimately NCAA hockey, Mikkel is taking an important step in his development by joining a program that emphasizes growth, structure, and exposure. His progression over the past two seasons reflects a player committed to continuous improvement and ready to take on increased responsibility.

Dennill’s local roots and proven track record at both the JPHL and CSSHL levels make his signing an exciting moment for Venom HC and the broader hockey community in the Fraser Valley. Mikkel will wear #77 this year.

Welcome back to Abbotsford & the Venom HC U18 AAA Team Mikkel!
