The Venom HC U18 AAA team is thrilled to officially announce the signing of forward Ethan Croteau from Schelt, BC, to our 2025-26 roster. After a strong showing at our recent main camp, Croteau has earned his spot through hard work, grit, and an unwavering attitude — the exact characteristics we look for in a Venom player.

Croteau came into camp with something to prove, and he delivered. From the first puck drop to the final whistle, Ethan showcased a relentless motor, physical edge, and a two-way game that immediately caught the attention of the coaching staff. He demonstrated not only a tenacious forecheck and battle-level along the boards, but also a growing confidence in creating scoring chances and pushing the pace offensively.

What truly set Ethan apart was his attitude. Despite coming off a significant injury that sidelined him for part of last season, his determination to come back stronger was on full display. Rather than allowing it to be a setback, he’s used the recovery process as fuel to push his game further — both mentally and physically. That maturity and resilience didn’t go unnoticed.

"Ethan brought exactly the kind of presence and energy you want in a player," said GM Brady Douglas. "He was focused, asked questions, gave consistent effort, and gelled quickly with both coaches and teammates. You could tell right away that he was here for the right reasons and ready to compete at this level. The grit, the physicality, the effort — all of it matched the identity we want as a program."

Off the ice, Ethan fit seamlessly into the team environment, building quick chemistry with returning and new players alike. His coachability and team-first mentality stood out just as much as his on-ice contributions. His leadership qualities — quiet, but driven — are already starting to emerge, and the organization is excited about the potential he brings as the season approaches.

Ethan enters the 2025-26 season with clear goals in mind. His sights are firmly set on advancing to junior hockey, specifically with aspirations of playing for the Coastal Tsunami of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) — and Venom HC is proud to be part of that journey. We’re committed to providing the development, structure, and exposure he needs to take that next step.

Ethan will proudly wear jersey #71 this season as he begins this exciting new chapter of his hockey career.

Welcome to Venom HC, Than — we’re fired up to have you in the lineup.
