The Venom HC AAA U18 program is proud to announce the signing of Kamloops, BC native, Kellan Brown, to our 2025 roster. Standing at an imposing 6’2” and 190 pounds, Brown brings a physical presence and defensive mindset that will immediately solidify our back end heading into the upcoming season.
Kellan spent last season patrolling the blue line with the U18 Kamloops A1 (T2) program, where he developed into a reliable shutdown defender known for his strength in the corners and control in high-pressure situations. His ability to win puck battles, maintain positioning in front of the net, and move opposing forwards off the puck makes him a key addition to our defensive core.

“Kellan plays with a calmness and maturity well beyond his age,” said Venom HC President & Head Coach Brady Douglas. “He reads the ice exceptionally well, rarely makes mistakes under pressure, and brings the kind of compete level and grit that every team needs come playoff time. He’s the type of player who does the little things right — boxing out, blocking shots, killing penalties — and that’s exactly the DNA we want in our defensive unit.”
Off the ice, Brown is known as a leader and someone teammates respect for his work ethic and quiet confidence. He will be leaned on not only for his defensive play but also to set a tone for physicality and accountability across our roster.
With his frame, hockey IQ, and defensive tools, we believe Kellan has a bright future and this year will be a major stepping stone as he looks toward junior opportunities in the near future. He will be wearing #15 this season.
Welcome to the Venom family, Kellan — we’re excited to have you on board.
