FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Chilliwack, BC — The Venom HC 16U AAA program is proud to announce the signing of forward Kruz McKay from Chilliwack, British Columbia, as the team continues to build a competitive roster for the upcoming season.

McKay made a strong impression at the organization’s recent ID Camp, showcasing his offensive instincts by finding the back of the net multiple times while consistently creating opportunities for his teammates. Known for his high hockey IQ and elite vision, McKay has the rare ability to slow the game down and execute plays under pressure.

“Kruz is a player that understands the game at a high level, He doesn’t just produce offensively — he drives play, elevates the players around him, and competes every shift.” said President & GM, Brady Douglas. “Kruz is the type of player every team needs — someone who leads by example and rises in big moments. We’re excited to welcome him to the program.”

A proven leader, McKay has worn the captain’s “C” for multiple teams throughout his minor hockey career. His accomplishments include being named as a finalist for the Bob Ames Most Outstanding Player of the Year at the U13 level with Chilliwack Minor Hockey. He is also a two-time Donaldson Cup champion, including leading his team to victory as captain, and captured the Roy Morrow Cup at the U13 level.

McKay brings a combination of skill, leadership, and competitiveness that aligns with the identity Venom HC is continuing to establish. The addition of McKay further strengthens a growing 16U Venom HC roster as the organization prepares for a highly competitive season ahead.

Please welcome Kruz, who will wear #7 this season, to the Venom HC 16U AAA Team.

The Venom is spreading...
