Musaskapoe Brings Size, Physicality to Venom HC 19U AAA

ABBOTSFORD, BC — Venom HC AAA is proud to announce the signing of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Defenseman Reesin Musaskapoe to the 19U AAA roster for the 2026/27 season.

Musaskapoe, a 2009-born defenseman, spent last season competing in the USPHL with the Onion Lake Scouts, appearing in 13 games as one of the younger players in the league. He recorded 1 goal and 4 assists while gaining valuable experience competing against older players.

Standing at 6'0" and 175 pounds, Musaskapoe brings size, physicality and a competitive edge to the Venom backend. His willingness to play a physical style and compete hard in the defensive zone will make him an important addition to the 19U group. For Musaskapoe, joining Venom HC is about taking the next step in his development and building toward his long-term goal of competing at the Tier 1 level within the next one to two years.

“We're excited to add Reesin to our backend,” said Venom HC President & GM Brady Douglas. “He is a big, physical defenseman who has already had experience playing against older competition. We had some good conversations about where he wants to take his game, and he understands there is still a lot of development ahead. He needs to get bigger, faster, stronger and continue improving his hockey IQ, but the tools are there. We believe our program can help him take those next steps.”

The Venom HC development program will focus on helping Musaskapoe continue to improve his skating, strength, physical game, decision-making and overall hockey IQ while preparing him for his next level of hockey.

“We want Reesin to leave our program a significantly better player than when he arrived,” Douglas added. “If he continues to work and buys into the development process, we believe he has a real opportunity to put himself in a position to pursue Tier 1 hockey in the next couple of years.”

Musaskapoe becomes another key piece of the Venom HC 19U AAA defensive core as the organization prepares for its first season competing in the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL).
