Hornet Turned Venom, 16U Adds Howieson from Langley

Venom Hockey Club is proud to announce the signing of Anthony Howieson from Langley, British Columbia, for the 2026-27 16U AAA season. Anthony joins the Venom after playing last season with the Langley Hornets U16 AAA program, where he established himself as a reliable two-way player with a strong hockey IQ and consistent work ethic.

The Venom coaching staff first became familiar with Anthony during several exhibition games against the Hornets last season. Every time they faced him, he found ways to impact the game by making smart decisions with the puck, working relentlessly in all three zones, and helping drive the pace of play.

After extending an invitation to the club's recent ID Camp, Anthony elevated his game even further. Throughout the weekend, he consistently stood out with his composure, compete level, and ability to make the right play in every situation. His performance confirmed what the coaching staff had already seen throughout the season.

Standing at an impressive 6'2" and 170 pounds, Anthony possesses an excellent physical foundation and tremendous upside. With his combination of size, skating ability, and hockey sense, the organization believes he is poised for a major year of development.

"Anthony is a player we've been watching for quite some time. Every time we played against him, he seemed to make the right decisions and push the pace of the game. After seeing him at our ID Camp, there was no doubt he was someone we wanted in our program. He's a player with tremendous upside, and we believe he'll continue to grow into an important leader within our team," said President & GM, Brady Douglas.

In addition to his on-ice abilities, Anthony's maturity, character, and team-first attitude make him an ideal fit for the culture Venom Hockey Club is building. The organization looks forward to seeing him embrace a leadership role while continuing to develop into a complete player as he works toward his junior hockey aspirations.
