Chilliwack's Benjamin Bedford Ready for the AAA 16U Challenge

ABBOTSFORD, BC – Venom HC AAA is proud to announce the signing of Benjamin Bedford, a 2011-born forward from Chilliwack, BC, to our 16U AAA program for the 2026/27 season.

Bedford joins the Venom after an impressive season with the Chilliwack Bruins U15 A2 team, where he recorded 23 goals and 14 assists for 37 points in 29 games. His offensive production, combined with his complete two-way game, made him one of the standout performers during the Venom HC AAA Identification Camp earlier this month.

From the moment he stepped onto the ice, Benjamin demonstrated the qualities our coaching staff looks for in a player. His strong 200-foot game, excellent edgework, skating speed, and ability to think the game at a high level immediately caught our attention. Whether creating scoring opportunities for his teammates or finding the back of the net himself, Benjamin consistently made smart plays and competed in every area of the ice.

"Benjamin had a tremendous showing at our ID Camp," said Head Coach Brendan Werbin. "He plays the game the right way. His hockey IQ is outstanding; he competes in all three zones, and he has a natural ability to either finish plays or create quality scoring chances for his teammates. We believe he has a very bright future, and we're excited to help him continue developing toward his goal of playing Junior hockey."

Benjamin's commitment to improving his game and willingness to challenge himself by taking the next step into AAA hockey made him an excellent fit for the Venom program. His addition provides another skilled, intelligent forward to an already competitive 16U roster for the upcoming season.

The entire Venom HC AAA organization is excited to welcome Benjamin and his family to the program and looks forward to watching his continued growth both on and off the ice.
