Abbotsford, BC — August 20, 2026 — The Venom HC AAA Program is proud to announce the signing of Armstrong, BC defenseman Aiden Loewen to the 2026/27 19U AAA roster.

The 2008-born defenseman stands at 6'2" and 160 pounds and brings a physical, hard-nosed style to the Venom HC blue line. Loewen plays a big, physical game and is exactly the type of defenseman the program is looking to develop as the organization continues to establish its identity heading into the 2026/27 season.

Loewen's path back to hockey has been anything but easy. After suffering an injury in an off-ice accident, Aiden was forced to miss the entire 2025/26 season. Over the last several months, he has worked extremely hard on his recovery, conditioning and overall development, earning clearance to return to the game he loves.

Before his injury, Loewen spent the 2024/25 season with the Vernon Vipers U18 A1 team, recording 9 goals and 15 assists for 24 points in 25 games from the blue line.

"We are extremely excited to have Aiden back on the ice and part of our program," said Venom HC President & GM Brady Douglas. "What stands out about Aiden isn't just his size or physical ability. It's the work he's put in over the last number of months to get himself back to this point. He has shown a tremendous amount of maturity, and he's someone who is committed to working on himself while also being the type of person who wants to help the people around him."
"Aiden brings a physical element that we want to see from our defensemen this season. He's a big body, he can skate, he has a strong hockey IQ, and when he plays with confidence and uses his physical tools properly, he can be a very difficult player to play against."

Loewen also brings strong character and maturity to the Venom HC dressing room. The organization believes his experience overcoming adversity will be an important part of his development as he works toward his long-term goal of playing Junior A hockey. For Loewen, the 2026/27 season represents more than simply returning to competitive hockey. It is an opportunity to get back to developing, competing and proving to himself what he can accomplish after a difficult year away from the game.

The Venom HC AAA Program is excited to welcome Aiden Loewen to the organization and looks forward to watching him continue his journey back to the level he knows he is capable of reaching.

Welcome to Venom HC, Aiden.

The Future Is Venom.
