Abbotsford Venom HC Welcomes Lucas Jones to 16U Roster

The Abbotsford Venom HC is proud to announce the signing of Lucas Jones to the organization's 16U AAA team for the upcoming season.

Hailing from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Jones joins the Venom after playing with Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey U18 A3 last season. Despite being one of the younger players competing at the U18 level, the 5'8", 150-pound defenseman appeared in 45 games, recording 4 goals and 8 assists while gaining valuable experience against older competition.

Jones earned his spot with the Venom following an outstanding performance at the organization's ID Camp held last weekend at the Langley Sportsplex. Throughout the weekend, he continued to elevate his game, becoming more confident and comfortable with every shift. His work ethic, coachability, and willingness to compete quickly caught the attention of the coaching staff.

"Lucas was one of those players who got noticeably better every time he stepped on the ice," said President and General Manager Brady Douglas. "He's a quiet kid, but he lets his game do the talking. He competes hard, plays a tough game, and is always willing to put in the work. We believe he has tremendous leadership qualities and will take on an important role within our group, especially helping set the standard for some of our younger players."

Jones brings maturity, consistency, and a team-first mentality to the Venom lineup. His experience playing up an age group, combined with his determination to continue developing, makes him an exciting addition to the program.

The entire Venom organization is thrilled to welcome Lucas and his family to the program and looks forward to helping him take the next step in his hockey development.
