The Venom HC U18 AAA program is proud to announce the signing of 2011-born defenseman Owen Lee from Chilliwack, BC, to a developmental player contract for the 2025–26 season.
Standing at an impressive 6'0" and 165 lbs, Lee is focused on accelerating his development this year to surpass the typical growth curve for players in his age group. After making a rep team for the first time last season, Owen has been fully committed to enhancing his skating, strength, and hockey IQ. His goal? To become a reliable shutdown defenseman and make the jump to junior hockey in the future.
“Owen really stood out at our recent camp,” said President/GM and Head Coach Brady Douglas. “He has a calm, composed approach to the game. Whether under pressure or making outlet passes, he never panicked. That’s a rare trait, especially for someone his age, and a huge asset for any team on the back end.”

While Lee will play a limited game schedule with the U18 club this season, his primary focus will be development—both on and off the ice—as he works toward earning a full-time role with the team in the coming years. His daily efforts in the gym and on the ice are all part of his long-term plan to elevate his game and reach the junior level and beyond.
“He’s a fantastic kid with an incredible attitude,” added Douglas. “You could tell from the first whistle at camp that Owen wants to be the best possible player he can be. Taking a step like this at his age speaks volumes about his dedication.”
Owen Lee will wear #13 for the Venom HC U18 AAA squad this season. The entire Venom HC organization is excited to welcome Owen and looks forward to being part of his continued growth and success.
