Abbotsford, BC – Venom HC AAA 19U is proud to announce the signing of forward Josh Durant from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, for the 2026-27 season.

Standing at 6'2" and 185 pounds, Durant brings the size, strength, and compete level that coaches look for in a power forward. The Venom coaching staff first identified Josh during the Global Camp in May, where his work ethic and skill set immediately stood out among his peers.

Following a strong showing at Global Camp, Durant was invited to attend Venom HC's recent ID Camp, where he continued to impress coaches throughout the weekend. His combination of speed, offensive instincts, and commitment to playing a complete 200-foot game made him one of the standout performers at camp.

"Josh is the type of player every coach wants on their team. He competes hard in all three zones, uses his size effectively, and has the ability to contribute offensively while being responsible defensively. We were impressed with his progression from Global Camp to our ID Camp and are excited to help him continue developing his game," said President and GM, Brady Douglas.

Last season, Durant suited up for the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey U18 A3 program, appearing in 45 games while recording 12 goals and 28 assists for 40 points. His ability to create offense, support teammates, and consistently impact games made him a key contributor throughout the season.

Venom HC is excited to welcome Josh and his family to the organization and looks forward to helping him take the next step in his hockey journey as he continues to develop toward the junior level.

Welcome to the Venom family, Josh!
