19U Adds Dynamic Twin Brothers Matthew & Benjamin Roy

Abbotsford, BC – June 23, 2026 – Venom HC AAA is excited to announce the signing of twin brothers Matthew Roy and Benjamin Roy of Edmonton, Alberta, to the 2026-27 Venom HC AAA 19U roster.

The brothers spent the 2025-26 season with the Redwater Rebels of the National Junior Hockey League (NJHL), where they established themselves as reliable offensive contributors and leaders. Matthew appeared in 34 games, recording 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points, while Benjamin suited up in 37 games and posted 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points. Together, the twins combined for 53 points and brought a strong two-way game and competitive edge every night.

Matthew and Benjamin attended the Venom HC ID Camp this past weekend and quickly turned heads with their exceptional hockey IQ, work ethic, and leadership qualities. Their ability to create scoring opportunities, finish around the net, and elevate the play of those around them made an immediate impression on the coaching staff.

"Matthew and Benjamin were among the players that stood out throughout the entire weekend," said Brady Douglas, President and General Manager of Venom HC. "Their hockey sense, compete level, and ability to generate offense were evident every time they stepped on the ice. Beyond that, they demonstrated strong character and leadership qualities that fit perfectly with the culture we're building. We're thrilled to welcome both of them to the Venom family."

The Roy brothers bring chemistry that only twins can possess, and their ability to read off one another creates dangerous offensive opportunities. Their experience playing junior hockey and their maturity will add depth and leadership to the Venom lineup.

"We are extremely excited to have Matthew and Benjamin joining our 19U program," added Douglas. "They have already shown they can contribute offensively, and we believe their best hockey is still ahead of them. We look forward to helping them continue their development and are excited to see what they can accomplish this season."

Venom HC AAA continues to build a highly competitive roster for the 2026-27 season, and the addition of the Roy twins represents another important step in establishing one of Western Canada's premier independent AAA programs.
